Certain people memorialized in songs, or place names that are especially meaningful to me are included in my fourth CD, a mix of popular and classic poetry and music. These are recorded live, while I accompany myself using a keyboard that offers lots of musical instruments and orchestral sounds.

Four* of the eleven offerings are set to my own melodies, born from the stunning word-pictures these poets/musicians chose.

Number 7** is my own work, written especially for this latest album. It mentions four tiny villages with wonderful names near our family's English country cottage: Kingsthorne, Little Dewchurch, Wormelow Tump, and Much Birch, our village.

American, a link-up of three American traditional songs, was assembled and recorded in a few angry minutes in response to flag desecration and 'America trashing' and to remember all the men who've died defending this wonderful country, especially in World War Two. God bless them.

The rest*** are old friends. Copyrighted songs used with permission. All arrangements are mine.

Musings on Infinity (2006)

Musings on Infinity

This album looks at roads not taken, lovely and sad memories, and the wonder we feel at being part of this unthinkably vast universe. There is delight, regret, humor and confusion, as when an enchanted frog tries to come to terms with inevitable, profound change. It contemplates life, old age and death, sometimes with a coldly objective eye. Hope and love are woven into every song, as poets throughout the centuries ponder Infinity.

Copyrighted material is used with permission. All performances are live.

Engineer: Joe Blair
Cover Art: Dee Blair (Horsehead Nebula: NASA's Hubbell Telescope).
This album was made entirely at Sunnybank in 2006.

A Contemplation Upon Flowers (1999)

A Contemplation Upon Flowers

It has been said that music is the speech of angels, poetry is vocal painting, and nature is the art of God. With this album I have combined music with some of the world's most beautiful poetry, spanning 2000 years, where flowers, love, life and death are contemplated. These songs soothe and delight, and offer a sense of peace, inviting the listener into that special place where the good earth may speak to us all.
